Webinar: Transference and Countertransference with Dr. Richard G. Erskin
Transference and Countertransference: "An Integrative Psychotherapy Perspective"
Monday, December 1st, 2025
18:00–20:00 (CET)
Online via Zoom
About the Webinar
In this online lecture, Dr. Richard G. Erskine will provide a comprehensive and integrative understanding of transference and countertransference within the psychotherapeutic process.
He will emphasize the importance of using transference therapeutically to uncover the client’s unconscious search for emotional healing from neglect, abuse, or chronic criticism.
The lecture will explore how the therapist’s focus on the transferential story — both within the therapeutic relationship and in everyday life — can deepen the healing process.
Dr. Erskine will also make a clear distinction between reactive countertransference, which disrupts psychotherapy, and responsive countertransference, which enhances it.
The event will include a live therapy demonstration with a volunteer client, conducted under full ethical standards.
The event will be moderated by Živa Malovrh, an Integrative Psychotherapy trainee at SFU Ljubljana and the translator of Dr. Richard Erskine’s book The Healing Relationship.
